Erin Hamilton is an artist who currently lives in Oakland, CA
specializing in painting and illustration. Many of the themes
in her work reference nature, both in its abundance and
decay as well as a random collection of thoughts, nonsense,
humor, abstract color fields, improvised movement and lines,
small forest animals, food, and color.
It is in questioning standards of beauty that leads Erin to
contrast "pretty" with references to power plants, bombs,
and distorted animals and people. Varying patterns, rich
unusual color schemes, eclectic compositions, botanical
prints, and animal references are seen throughout her
detailed paintings in both representational, stylized and
abstract forms.
Erin has a BFA from the University of North Texas and
is someone who has developed a deep appreciation for
the great state of Texas from a distance.
